1 Das Glasfasernetz von Stokab

Per-Olof Gustafsson presents the dark fiber network of Stokab
Stokab is owned by the City of Stockholm, and is an independent wholesale only provider of passive infrastructure in the form of optical fibres, with no active termination equipment, known as dark fibre.
- What is the business model of Stokab?
- Who are the customers? How can Stokab combine the different requirements of their customers – suppliers of FTTH, Smart city, IoT, 5G, private fiber networks etc.?
- How fits the Passive-layer open model (PLOM) of Stokab to the Three-layer open model (3LOM)?
- How looks the network topology and how can Stokab operate such a network, at the same time staying very flexible? How can the necessary capacity, the number of fibers, be calculated?
- Is this netwotk concept only applicable in large cities, can it be transferred to smaller communities and to rural areas?
These are only some questions which Per-Olof can answer and about which we can discuss.
